2010 Funding Opportunities

The Komen Memphis MidSouth Affiliate is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for the 2010 year. Grants will be made to support efforts to reduce breast cancer disparities in Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, Desoto and Tunica counties.

Based on a community needs assessment, Komen has identified the three following funding priority areas:

  1. Projects focusing on breast health education among African American, Hispanic and rural women in our 5 county service area.
  2. Projects focusing on breast screening services among African American, Hispanic and rural women in our 5 county service area.
  3. Projects focusing on providing culturally-appropriate support services to African American, Hispanic, rural and low income breast cancer survivors.

The deadline for applications is February 19, 2010 by 5:00 pm CST.

Save Lids to Save Lives®

Save Lids to Save Lives® takes place during September and October. For each pink lid mailed in by customers, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Komen with a guaranteed donation of $500,000 and up to $1.5 million. Consumers will be asked to save their pink Yoplait lids and send them in by December 31, 2010.

Memphis-MidSouth Affilliate Announces 2009 Community Grants

The Memphis-MidSouth Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure recently announced community grants totaling $750,000 to support Shelby, Desoto, Tunica, Tipton and Fayette county breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Announces $60 Million In Research Grants

On April 7, 2009 Susan G. Komen for the Cure® vowed to invest $60 million in research to accelerate breast cancer cures, eliminate disparities, and improve diagnoses.
